KYF2 Demo
The Know Your Farmer, Know Your Food (KYF2) Compass Map supports local and regional food system visibility through an interactive mapping platform. The system integrates data from multiple federal sources into a unified, web-based interface designed for ease of access and use. Initially launched in 2012, the platform continues to assist in tracking program reach and resource alignment at the national level.
VSolvit developed a structured software delivery framework to support the Enterprise Mapping Program Office. This included program analysis, system architecture, application development, data management, testing, and performance evaluation across multiple mapping-related projects. Mapping tools and visual data products were required to support immediate mission needs across field and administrative operations. VSolvit delivered solutions using layered map visualizations, spatial data integration, positional tracking tools, and web-based mapping interfaces. Daily responsibilities included data creation, transformation, geocoding, documentation, and secure sharing. VSolvit also developed and maintains a centralized data repository that enables users to access available datasets through an internal portal. This resource supports decision-making, reduces duplication, and improves resource efficiency for Rural Development programs.
